Research Assistant (m/f/d): parallel Programming Models and Runtime Systems

I am looking for a new PhD Student!

Upon joining our team you will have the opportunity to shape your own projects in an exciting field of research, as well as to gain experience in digitally-supported teaching. Your salary and occupational pension plan will be according to the collective bargaining agreement for public-sector employees. The position can be arranged flexibly with regard to working times and locations, but regular stays at the Hagen campus will be required. Your tasks:
You will participate in research projects of the chair for Computer Engineering in the field of Parallel Programming Models and Runtime Systems.
You will be involved in the creation and maintenance of distance learning materials.
You will participate in the implementation of distance learning courses and events.
You will provide support during seminars, and for diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s theses.
Your profile:
You hold a university degree at minimally at the master’s level in computer science or a related area.
You have particularly good programming skills in C, C++ and Python.
In addition, you have very good knowledge of computer technology and computer architecture.
Likewise, we require sound knowledge of parallel hardware and good knowledge of parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP).
Knowledge of high-performance computing and GPU programming with CUDA is desirable.
Ideally, you already have experience working in interdisciplinary teams, can work independently with excellent time-management skills.
Advanced English skills (written and spoken) are a prerequisite, German language skills are beneficial.
You are interested in distance learning and the design of teaching materials.

Contract duration:
We offer a 100% position to pursue a further academic qualification, including the option of a doctorate. The contract is limited to 3 years. The actual contract duration will be determined by your personal requirements and goals. We will endeavor to secure your continued employment until you have completed your desired qualification or to allow you to pursue further qualifications.
