About the Role
You will be helping to support the innovative research being carried out using the University of Southampton’s High Performance Computing facilities. You will be joining a team of dedicated research computing engineers who are supporting the current systems and their use in a range of real-world problem-solving research topics. From Quantum Chemistry simulations and AI modelling for future technologies to Climate modelling the impact of climate change, medical imaging to support medical diagnosis advances and COVID-19 research. Come join the team as we refresh our on-premises clusters and start looking the use cloud HPC to explore new architectures.
What you’ll do
- Take a leading role in delivering and maintaining the University’s High Performance and Data Intensive Computing facilities.
- Working proactively with a wide range of the University’s research community to exploit the full potential of our facilities.
- Planning major systems installations and upgrades.
- Delivering training programmes to research students and mentor colleagues.
What you’ll bring
- Experience of the use of high-performance computing in research or industry.
- Knowledge of working within a large-scale Linux server environment.
- Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to communicate well with others
- An enquiring mind eager to learn new technologies and support scientific endeavour.
Interviews for this role will be held between 16th and 21st December 2021.
