Founding HPC System Engineer

About us

At PowerML, we are on a mission to redefine software using AI: how it’s built, who builds it, and who it’s built for. We are using cutting-edge AI to write software for everyone—with a team from Stanford, Harvard, Google, NVIDIA, and backed by top investors such as Dylan Field and Andrew Ng.

We’re creating a future where building software is more limited by your imagination—than your ability—to bring it to life. With software this accessible, building will become community-led and diverse communities will be able to build tools for themselves without needing to learn how to code. As a beachhead, we’re focused on enabling product users to easily create data apps without code. Our no-code data app generator has AI write the software to extract insights from an overwhelming set of data.

We make unique contributions to solving some of the world’s most stimulating AI technology problems. Our work demands the best talent; we challenge ourselves to do our best work. We’re inventing the future of intelligence and AI-driven products: these inventions can only be made through grit and the desire for diving deep into a problem. Come join us in pioneering the no-code revolution, driven by powerful AI user experiences for everyone.

About you

We are currently looking for a founding high performance systems engineer with a strong understanding of high performance computer architectures and software to join our rapidly-growing, tight-knit team. We expect you to grow to lead systems engineering for our core product. Since you’ll be joining an early-stage startup at the ground level, you’ll have the opportunity to wear multiple hats, learn cross-functionally, and see yourself thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience building high performance software
  • Demonstrated fluency with accelerator frameworks such as CUTLASS, TRITON, EXO, HALIDE, or CUDA
  • Desire to create the highest performing production systems for next-generation AI
  • Worked with or participated in production cloud software engineering
  • Desire to work in an inclusive and collaborative environment
  • An interest in learning from others, teaching others, and digging into new challenges
  • Curiosity and passion to learn new things constantly

We believe in hiring passionate individuals who believe in the AI revolution to make software accessible to all. If you’re excited about this role but are not sure if your past experience aligns perfectly, we still encourage you to apply and meet with us.

This is an in-person role in Palo Alto, CA

Most of all, we’re looking for someone eager to move fast and are hungry to build and own enormous contributions.
