The Department of Computer Science at the Florida State University invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin in August 2023. The positions are 9-month, full-time, tenure-track, and benefits eligible. We are seeking strong systems design and implementation applicants in the broad areas of Computer Systems (particularly high-performance computing and systems security), Data Science and AI, and Interdisciplinary Computing. Outstanding applicants in other related areas will also be considered. Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of Computer Science or closely related field at the time of appointment and have a demonstrated record of research and teaching accomplishments.
The department currently has 25 tenure-track and 7 specialized faculty members and offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. Our annual research expenditure has been growing substantially in the past several years and was over four million dollars in the 2022 fiscal year. The department is an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE/CDE) and Research (CAE-R). FSU is classified among R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research and a top 20 national public university. Its primary role is to serve as a center for advanced graduate and professional studies while emphasizing research and providing excellence in undergraduate education.
