WHPC Announces Intel as its first Corporate Champion

Edinburgh, UK, December 13, 2018 – Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) today announced Intel Corporation as its first Corporate Champion. WHPC’s mission is to promote best practices in workforce diversity and inclusion in HPC through education, outreach, training and research.

“Women represent less than 15% of the HPC sector, it is essential that we continue to work at the grassroots level and globally to grow the HPC talent pool and benefit from the diversity of talented women and other under-represented groups,” said Dr. Toni Collis, Chair and Founder of WHPC and Chief Business Development Officer at Appentra Solutions. “With support from Intel, we can begin focusing on global programs and initiatives that can accelerate our goals and amplify our impact.”

Intel’s support is part of the WHPC Corporate Champions program. Its aim is to build a foundation for a sustainable WHPC program and support for our mission.

Women in HPC Continues to Lead Diversity and Inclusion Events at SC18

Dallas, November 10, 2018 – Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) will again be leading the conversation on diversity and inclusion in the HPC community at our biggest annual event at this year’s Supercomputing conference (SC18). Women in HPC has grown into an organisation and network with global reach, holding programmes of events at the major international supercomputing and IT conferences.

“The movement is growing. More and more allies are joining in efforts to support diversity and encourage inclusion. Women in HPC members’ efforts are increasing and we are organising at the grassroots level.  We are now a force that is fostering positive change in the community,” says Dr. Toni Collis, Chair and Co-Founder of WHPC and Chief Business Development Officer at Appentra Solutions.

Women in HPC Inspires at ISC 2018

Frankfurt, Germany, June 24, 2018 – Leaders, early career women, and researchers in HPC will gather again this year to participate in the Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) events at ISC High Performance Computing. Networking and training events take place on June 27 and 28th.  

“Women in HPC continues to focus on addressing the growing deficit between the talent requirements in the HPC sector and the available workforce. Women in HPC Continuing Diversity and Inclusivity Efforts at ISC 2017

Edinburgh, Scotland, June 19, 2017 – Women in HPC Continuing Diversity and Inclusivity Efforts at ISC 2017

Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) will once again be participating in the ISC High Performance Conference June 18th – 22nd in Frankfurt Germany. WHPC will be running several activities to bring together the HPC community, provide opportunities to network, showcase the work of inspiring women, and discuss how we can all work towards improving the under-representation of women in supercomputing. The range of activities is designed to reach a broad audience, prompt discussion, educate, and encourage adoption of diversity practices in the HPC community.

Salt Lake City, UT, USA November 14, 2016 Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) has been recognized in the annual HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards, presented at the 2016 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC16), in Salt Lake City, Utah. Women in HPC Lead the Change to Improve Diversity at ISC 2016

Edinburgh, Scotland, May 18, 2016 – Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) will be running several activities at ISC High Performance 2016 with the aim of broadening participation in the conference. The range of activities is designed to reach as broad an audience as possible, to prompt discussion and encourage the adoption of best diversity practices throughout the HPC community.

EuroMPI 2016 and Women in HPC Announce First of its Kind Collaboration to Improve Diversity at HPC Conferences

Edinburgh, Scotland, May 2, 2016 – Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) is delighted to announce a partnership with EuroMPI 2016, the pre-eminent meeting for users, developers and researchers to interact and discuss new developments and applications of message passing parallel computing. This is the first partnership between WHPC and a high performance computing conference, and will ensure that EuroMPI 2016 will make diversity a key consideration when organizing the conference. One of the conference goals is for MPI users and developers to consider equality of opportunity and diversity to be of paramount importance to the ongoing innovation and growth of their community.

Women in HPC Recognized by HPCwire Readers’ Choice Award for Leadership in Workforce Diversity

Austin, Texas, November 16, 2015 – The Women in HPC Organization (WHPC) was acknowledged today for their efforts to bring recognition to the issue of diversity in HPC, as voted on by the readers of HPCwire. WHPC has been awarded the HPCwire Readers’ Choice for Workforce Diversity Leadership, presented at the 2015 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis (SC15).
