Women in HPC (WHPC) Unveils Exciting Events at SC ’24: Workshop, Diversity Day, Networking Reception, and Chapters & Affiliates Meeting!
Women in HPC (WHPC) is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of events for SC ‘24 in Atlanta, Georgia! This year we celebrate our 20th Annual Workshop, a milestone that promises to deliver an inspiring and engaging experience. Join us for our community events: our annual Tuesday Diversity Day celebration, our always-popular Networking Reception, and our inaugural Chapters & Affiliates Meeting, each designed to foster connections and celebrate innovation.
Distinguished Speaker – Jeff Larkin
We’re honoured to welcome Jeff Larkin as our distinguished speaker for this year’s workshop. Jeff will dive into his career experiences as a strong advocate for individuals from underrepresented groups in high-performance computing (HPC), offering insights into promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the HPC workforce. This keynote is set to be a memorable highlight, delivering both inspiration and actionable ideas for attendees.
Diversity Day – November 19th
Mark your calendar for November 19th as we kick off our Diversity Day! This day is all about celebrating the rich diversity within our community. Wear your WHPC swag with pride (or bring your own!) and join us in spreading the message of inclusion throughout the conference floor. Stop by our sponsors’ booths to collect exclusive WHPC merchandise, and let’s make this Diversity Day a visual (and vibrant!) celebration of what makes us unique.
Networking Reception – November 19th
After a day filled with sessions, workshops and meetings, unwind at our Networking Reception at Dos Bocas from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. This event is your chance to connect with fellow WHPC members, allies, and newcomers in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and the opportunity to forge new relationships while strengthening existing ones. Thanks to the incredible support of our SC sponsors, this evening is set to be a highlight of your SC 24 experience.
Tickets (wristbands) for the event will be available through selected WHPC sponsors during the Exhibitor Gala and our workshop. Please note, wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to secure yours early!
Chapters & Affiliates Meeting, A New Era for WHPC – November 19th
WHPC is excited to announce its first-ever Chapters & Affiliates Meeting, an exclusive, invitation-only event. This gathering will expand our global reach and enhance regional connections. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, share insights, and collaborate on advancing our mission. This landmark event underscores our commitment to drive progress and deepen our worldwide impact.
