We are now accepting new applications for Chapters and Affiliates.

Early in 2018 we started working with a range of groups and organisations that are passionate about WHPC’s vision and mission to develop a Chapters and Affiliates Programme. We were delighted to accept five WHPC Chapters and three WHPC affiliates as part of a pilot programme to help frame a sustainable future for WHPC and all who support our vision. A year later, we formally opened up the Programme for new applications.

The Programme enables WHPC to share its expertise and knowledge and facilitate new Chapters and Affiliates to use this knowledge to tailor activities and develop diversity and inclusion goals suitable to the needs of local HPC communities. WHPC works with the Chapters and Affiliates to support and promote the work of women in their organizations, develop crucial role models, and assist employers in the recruitment and retention of a diverse and inclusive HPC workforce. A Chapters Committee made up of Chapter representatives is designed to support the individual chapters, share knowledge and ideas, and develop a sustainable future for the programme.

How to start a local WHPC group and become a Chapter or Affiliate

 

Do you share our passion for female empowerment, diversity, inclusion and promoting women in the HPC workforce? Do you think that your community would benefit from the range of programs WHPC offers? Then you may want to start a WHPC group in your area and join our global network!

WHPC has now transitioned from running a pilot programme to assess how we should operate a worldwide network of Chapters and Affiliates that is officially associated with WHPC, to a regular programme. The goal: bring WHPC’s vision and mission to the worldwide community and assisting those passionate about diversity and inclusion to bring about positive change in their area.

There are some areas in the world where we already have chapters and affiliates as shown on our chapters and affiliates map.  If you are in an area with a Chapter or Affiliate, please contact us, and we’ll put you in touch with your local group contact; the local contact can then let you know how you can get involved and be part of the process.

We are eager to expand our WHPC affiliate and chapters network.  Thousands of women and HPC organisations can benefit from the activities of WHPC, and it is our goal to reach as many of them as possible.  If you are in a region/organisation where there is not currently a chapter or affiliate please apply! New application review windows occur three times a year.
