Duties

Research

Develop a research programme at an international level in the area of software engineering. Publish in this area at the highest scientific level, acquire competitive funding and supervise PhD students.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

• secure programming languages;

• tools and support for the engineering of resilient software systems;

• program verification and advanced type systems;

• software testing;

• security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design;

• software architecture;

• quantitative, statistical and empirical methods for software engineering research;

• software deployment, operational aspects of software distribution, evolution and dynamic modification.

Education

Teaching at bachelor and master level, in computer science and software engineering.

Guiding bachelor’s and master’s theses.

Service

Provide scientific, societal and internal services, that is, to society, the university, the department.

Profile

You have a PhD in Computer Science, or an equivalent degree, with a strong track record in research in the field of software engineering, and educational qualities.

Ambitious to develop a high-quality research programme. Anxious to contribute to high-quality education at bachelor and master level in computer science.

Proficiency in English is required.

Offer

Full-time employment as tenure track assistant professor.

After 5 years and a positive evaluation, a tenured position as associate professor.

Starting grant of 100.000 euro (offered to new professors without substantial other funding).

Language training (Dutch).
