Job Description

HPCNow! is looking for a passionate and proactive HPC System Administrator to join our dynamic team. You’ll collaborate with our HPC support staff to tackle thrilling and challenging computational problems. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues interactively, ensuring client problems are resolved, documenting solutions in our knowledge base, and working with application and system owners to develop advanced solutions. You’ll also install and configure applications and continuously study and enhance their performance. If you’re excited about making an impact in High-Performance Computing, we want to hear from you!

Job Requirements

Eligible to live and/or work in New Zealand

Excellent oral and written English skills.

Skills and Experience

Required

Three years of working experience managing Linux and HPC environments.
Strong technical and support skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python, shell scripting, etc.
Fast learning and a strong interest in learning new technologies.
Experience with HPC cluster managers.
Experience with HPC workload managers.

Desired

Experience with monitoring software stacks, such as ELK, InfluxDB, or Grafana.
Experience with cluster file systems like GPFS, Lustre,  or BeeGFS.
Experience with Slurm, PBS, or LSF.
Experience with Singularity containers.
Experience with Bright Cluster Manager and/or OpenHPC.
Experience with DevOps and automation tools is a plus.
Experience developing technical training documentation for users.
Possessing innate abilities in diplomacy and tact.
Experience with Bright Cluster Manager, xCAT or Warewulf.
Experience managing Kubernetes clusters.

If you don’t have experience in one or any of the desired skills, we will provide you with the training and the resources required to achieve that knowledge.
