Dr. Sharon Broude Geva is an independent consultant, and prior to that served as Director for Innovation and Computational Research in the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Michigan (U-M) where over the years she led the Advanced Research Computing unit and helped manage the Statistics, Computation, and Analytics Research consulting unit.
Sharon is currently a Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) conference series Steering Committee member, is on the Executive Board of Women in HPC (WHPC) and is Co-Editor of the IEEE Computing in Science and Engineering (CiSE) Education Department. She serves on national and international task forces, organizing committees, advisory boards, and review panels.
Sharon’s HPC and RCD past community roles include serving as Chair and as Past Chair of The Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation (CASC), chairing the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA)‘s Research Computing Peer Group, and Member at Large of the Executive Board of the Great Lakes Consortium for Petascale Computation (GLCPC).
She received her Ph.D. in Computational Physical Chemistry and her BSc in Computer Science and in Chemistry from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Utah.
