Connecting Women* in HPC

January 29, 2026

*inclusive of all persons along the gender spectrum that feel connected to femininity.

An interactive session for brainstorming around encouraging a diverse HPC workforce.

Join us on Thursday, 29th January, 11:30 am at SC Asia for “Connecting Women* in HPC,” an interactive Birds of a Feather (BoF) session. Designed to connect underrepresented voices in High-Performance Computing (HPC), this session invites women* in HPC and their allies of all genders to exchange experiences, evidence, and ideas for action.

Why Attend?

Tired of one-way talks? This BoF is your chance to engage in collaborative dialogue. We’ll tackle three pivotal questions:
1. Why is HPC (not) on a good track to providing equal opportunities to women*?
2. Who are the right people to help women* get into HPC?
3. What is missing for equal opportunities in HPC – including beyond gender?

How It Works

Guided by Theresa Pollinger, Neda Ebrahimi Pour, Joy Yang, Chigusa Kobayashi, Sara M., and @Lilia Zaourar Koutchoukali, the session uses creative methods like mind-mapping and starbursting to get us right into the important stuff. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, a researcher, a manager or new to the field, your perspective is vital. This 60-minute session is about fostering community in HPC.
See you at SC Asia—let’s continue HPC as a space where diversity, excellence, and innovation thrives together!
