At the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), we operate one of the most powerful computer systems for scientific and technical applications, including AI, in Europe and make it available to scientists at the research centre, in Germany, and across Europe for research purposes. In addition to operating the computer systems, we work on the latest methods for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) and participate in national and international initiatives and projects. One of the most visible projects is the “JUPITER AI Factory” (JAIF), which is led by the JSC, built around the JUPITER supercomputer, and focuses on the latest AI methods and applications.
Your Job:
- Lead a central work package in JAIF (“AI Factory Services” or “Application Transfer”)
- Ensure coherence between the objectives of the work package and the overarching project goals of JAIF
- Coordinate work within the JAIF consortium and with international partners
- Represent and present the results at international conferences and to funding agencies
- Actively follow the latest developments in the field of new AI and HPC methods and evaluate trends in terms of their future potential
- Actively research current scientific issues related to AI or HPC and publish the results in journals or at top-tier conferences
Your Profile:
- You have an excellent Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, or the natural sciences, preferably with a completed PhD or an outstanding publication record
- Proven AI experience through publications at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, or SC
- You are a talented communicator and are not afraid of conversations across hierarchies
- You have a very good command of written and spoken English (at least B2 level according to the CEFR: https://go.fzj.de/languagerequirements ), ideally supported by a certificate confirming the language level
- You have experience with international research projects
