Research Software Engineer

Two opportunities are available to join the developing Research Software Engineering (RSE) team.

The roles are ideal for someone with a passion for research and for good software engineering skills. As a Research Software Engineer, you will be developing and maintaining software tools and systems that support and advance scientific research, collaborating closely with researchers to make an impact on research projects across the whole of the ICR.

About the Role

• Collaborate with researchers to develop impactful software solutions that address critical research needs.
  Design, develop, and implement robust, maintainable, and efficient research software to advance research goals.
• Champion best practices for research software and infrastructure to ensure the reproducibility and sustainability of research outcomes.
• Maintain expertise in research software engineering advancements to contribute to the efficacy and innovation of research.
• Work collaboratively with researchers and technical teams to progress researcher’s own software development projects
• Contribute to the development and delivery of training materials and workshops to enhance research software skills within the organisation.
