The Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) is seeking a Senior Scientist/Research Facilitator to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the Rutgers research community facing complex computational projects and enable them to achieve their research goals.
This position reports to the Director of Research Support, under the Associate Vice President for Advanced Research Computing.
We are seeking a candidate who is skilled at developing new, as well as installing and adapting existing data science and machine learning tools for research workflows and analytical pipelines in the fields of molecular biology and genomics. This includes engineering toolsets involving AI models and Deep Learning algorithms that are developed in-house.
It is expected that the applicant will show an understanding of a broad range of computer and data-intensive research and have experience in at least one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) fields. A solid background in scientific programming is crucial, as is proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python or R.
