Women in HPC – RMACC Chapter – Invites you to the 2024 RMACC HPC Symposium

 

Dr. Kayla Sprenger, Assistant Professor, Chemical and Biological Engineering

The WHPC RMACC Chapter invites you to join us May 21-23rd in Boulder, CO for the Annual RMACC HPC Symposium. We invite all members, friends, and allies to Boulder Colorado for a three day event including networking, tutorials, technical sessions and discussions on diversity and inclusion, focusing on the needs of Minority Serving Institutions and equitable access to HPC Resources

Keynote speakers include Dr. Kayla Sprenger, Assistant Professor in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department and a faculty member in the Biomedical Engineering Program at the University of Colorado Boulder who will speak on her research and Al Anderson serves as the Chief Information Officer at Salish Kootenai College (SKC) and Board Member for the Minority Serving Cyberinfrastructure Consortium and as Co-Chair of the Programs and Priorities Committee. Al Anderson will focus his talk on the needs of Minority Serving Institutions and how large Research Universities and National Labs can support these needs.

Following Al’s Keynote, Members of the MSI-CC committee will then join us for a more in-depth discussion of the needs of MSI’s and how DEI committees can focus and target their work in the most productive manner.

Dr. Sharon Geva, NSF

Dr. Sharon Geva of NSF will also be speaking on NAIRR and equitable access to HPC resources across the nation.

Other DEI-focused sessions include a discussion on Shared Regional Trainings, How to train, hire and keep diverse individuals at yourinstitution, providing access to resources across the region, and workforce development sessions.
