WHPC Fellowship Update: Aleksandra Kowalczuk Wins Travel Fellowship to Present at the HPCKP24 Meeting in Barcelona

We are thrill to see our ISC23 Travel Fellow, Aleksandra Kowalczuk, has made even more strides forward as a representative for Women in HPC!  The HPCKP team kindly opened up fellowship opportunities for our UK and EU-based membership to submit abstracts towards their upcoming conference, taking place just before ISC24.  After a highly competitive process we are delighted to see her selected to join the presenters.

Aleksandra will also be joining us at ISC24 onstage at our Solution Forum Take Over!  Please the official press release to find out more about her contributions to the upcoming HPCKP event.

HPCNow! has announced that Aleksandra Kowalczuk has been awarded a travel fellowship to present her research at the annual HPC Knowledge Portal Meeting (HPCKP24). Scheduled for May 8-9, 2024, in Barcelona, Spain, this premier event is a focal point for global experts in High Performance Computing.

HPC Knowledge Portal promotes new initiatives and partnerships in the fields of HPC, AI, and Quantum Science. It fosters effective communication and interaction among leading figures in the HPC community.

Aleksandra earned this opportunity through a rigorous selection process conducted in partnership with Women in HPC (WHPC). The process was highly competitive, with the HPCKP volunteer team having the final say over the award submissions, selecting Aleksandra as this year’s travel fellow.

Holding a biotechnology degree with a focus on Bioinformatics and a master’s in Computer Science specializing in Systems Software, Aleksandra is currently advancing her studies in Computational Engineering at the University of Warsaw’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling. Professionally, she serves as a cyber security analyst with a focus on data protection, digital identity management, and cloud security. She also teaches programming, data analysis, and software design as an External Lecturer at a private university.

A Growing Community

Since its inception in November 2012, HPCKP has evolved from a community project into a robust platform under the management of HPCNow! since March 22, 2013. The platform now offers a wealth of articles, tools, conferences, seminars, and training courses aimed at advancing the fields it serves.

Registration for participation in-person and online is also open through this link. Tickets are free but registration is required.

Recordings and presentations from the previous HPCKP23 are accessible on the event’s website here.
