Women in HPC (WHPC) joins ISC24 in Collaboration Partnership

The Executive Board and Volunteers of WHPC are excited to announce our collaboration with the ISC24 team in a partnership aimed at fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). Together with the ISC24 team, we aspire to create a welcoming space for all individuals engaged in or interested in our field, whether through work or study.

As a significant aspect of this collaboration, we are also thrilled to announce that our posters are now integrated into the ISC24 program. If you identify as a woman or a member of an underrepresented group or community, we invite you to submit your poster to our session; applications are now open. This opportunity is ideal for you if:

  • You are a student or within the first 5 years of your career. (This can include the first 5 years of a career transition!)
  • You aspire to engage directly in mentorship opportunities with our dedicated volunteers.
  • You seek the chance to present your work publicly to a friendly and supportive audience.

Poster submissions in our category will be eligible for our 2024 Travel Fellowship Program, providing up to £3,000 (approximately €3,250) in reimbursable travel expenses. For insights into past winners, check our ISC 2023 and SC 2023 posts. We eagerly anticipate reviewing all your outstanding submissions!

The ISC 2024 WHPC Poster Session is under the guidance of Eleanor Broadway from EPCC at the University of Edinburgh. Poster submissions are due by (the now extended deadline) January 22, 2024.

Some finer details:

  • Successful poster session applicants will receive direct communication regarding all associated opportunities within our ISC24 category.
  • If you have previously submitted your poster to another WHPC workshop (ISC or SC), you are welcome to submit again. Many of our speakers have navigated the program a few times before progressing to the esteemed research and project poster categories at ISC and SC.
