The volunteers and executive committee members of Women in HPC (WHPC) are pleased to announce that one of our executive members, Cristin Merritt, has been invited to speak at the High Performance Computing Knowledge Portal (HPCKP) 2023 meeting.  Taking place just before ISC23, the HPC Community will gather in Barcelona on May 17 and 18th.  HPCKP was established in 2010 as a non-profit initiative and has since grown into an event which champions new connections, promotes exchange of knowledge within the supercomputing community – and most importantly – strives for greater inclusion and sustainability within the field.

The talk will focus on the OpenFlightHPC project, which is an open-source project geared towards platform agnostic HPC cluster deployment and use.  Utilising a small demo cluster, Cristin will walk through the latest improvements and templates that have been created specifically to make HPC more accessible to novice users.  Through this knowledge exchange we hope that this work will enable more individuals to become part of our community without having to take on the steep learning curve so often associated with our field.

You can find out more about OpenFlightHPC by visiting their website.

HPCKP is an in-person and virtual event which is free to attend.  Learn more about the meeting and register here.
